About.Rugby Avenue Church of Christ is an autonomous Christian congregation associated with other Churches of Christ through distinct beliefs and practices. We developed out of the American Restoration Movement, and we follow Biblical precedent for our doctrine and practice and trace our heritage back to the early Church as described in the book of Acts in the New Testament.

Established in 1966
In 2016 we celebrated 50 years of meeting at the Rugby Avenue building. Lord willing we will be here another 50 and beyond. Join us, and be a part of God's plan to give water to the thirsty, food to the hungry and clothes to the naked, both spiritually and physically.

Our GoalsSpread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the Charlottesville metropolitan area, baptize believers, and grow the Lord's Church in central Virginia and overseas. We strive to provide sound biblical teaching that is thoughtful and meets the overall spiritual needs of our family’s members. We believe maintaining a level of member to member contact on a regular basis is imperative to bringing our goals, rooted in God’s plan, to fruition. See our Values, Vision and Mission for more details.

God is There for You 24/7
Currently life is chaos, isn’t it? Everyone seems to be busy working or otherwise occupied. There are very few places that do not bombard or distract us with stress and constant interaction with technology. In many ways this is the perception that Satan wants us to have because it alienates our focus from God. Stop for a moment. Because of Christ we can pray anytime, anywhere and as long as we want or need. It’s not complicated, but prayer is often left out of our routine, leaving us to wonder how to react, what to think or how can I do this. We have a direct line to the God of the universe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a Divine technology that is available to pour out the Spirit's gift of peace and guidance!
At Rugby Avenue, we have special times of prayer on Sundays at 6:00 p.m., in which you can meet with others to bring your prayer requests to God. Please join us in the fellowship room! |
